Do not be fooled by this hotels rating. Do yourself a favor and find another place to stay in Brussels. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because the location is central to everything. The beds/pillows were horrendous. The bathrooms were extremely tight and constantly emitted a terrible odor. It also felt like you could fall through the shower floor at any moment. There isn’t even a hook in the bathroom to hang your shower towel. The rooms are as basic as it gets.

This small hotel is located just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Place and the Centraal Station, and it is very budget-friendly. The adjacent restaurant offers breakfast which must be purchased separately, but is really good. The waffles are amazing too! There is no lift in the hotel since it is a very old building, but don't let this discourage you - the staff will handle the luggage for you. Express check out is available too, and you can always contact staff through their WhatsApp number if there is the need. Staff is extremely helpful, and they speak excellent English. The lady at the reception gave us many tips to make the best out of our short 2-night stay. The street on which the hotel is located can be quite loud in the evening, given that it is so close to a big square full of restaurants and live music. But this is to be expected if you want to be close to the main attractions in a lively city such as Brussels (especially at Christmas!). Highly recommended!

This hotel is in a great location and is reasonably priced considering the location. There were plenty of stairs up to our top floor room so you need to be fairly fit but Adam Soto on reception was extremely helpful with our baggage and providing information and directions. The only down side was the small bathroom but this is referenced in the room description so it wasn't a complete surprise.

We stayed here for two nights on a multi-country trip through Europe. This hotel was one of the few hotels I found at a reasonable price that could comfortably accommodate our family of three. Our daughter loved the loft where she slept. And yes, there is no a/c in the rooms because it is a historical/UNESCO building dating back to 1696, which is also why there are no elevators. I didn't realize this (apparently it's on the website), but we just dealt with it and didn't let it ruin our trip. If you are not in any kind of physical shape to carry your own luggage up a flight of stairs or two, you may need to reconsider. The windows in the room are large and you can open them. There are also fans in the room. The bathroom is pretty small, but since I've been to Europe multiple times, I know better than to bring U.S. expectations to another continent. The hotel is right around the corner from the Grand Place, which is an absolute must-see. It's also close to lots of shops and restaurants. The staff at the front desk are very helpful with directions. There are also taxis waiting across the street if you need them. The central station just a few minutes' walk away, but we took cabs from Midi/Zuid and to Nord station.
